'99 3.0 Liter Lower Radiator Hose/Thermostat Connector Leaking
Hey guys,
I'm new here so let me know if I need to post this elsewhere.
I have a 99 xlt, 3.0 liter Ranger. This truck has served me quite well since I bought it back in '08 in Florida. Drove it from FL, to CA, to WA, and now live in Texas.
It's leaking coolant badly, from the connector that goes from the lower radiator hose up into the thermostat housing, and has a sensor plugged into the top of it. (Hope this is a clear enough description) This is a cast metal octagonal piece, and when it first started leaking about 2 months ago, I just threw some JB Weld on it and it held. Well, it finally has given up the ghost and has a sizable crack in the side opposite where I put the JB Weld.
It's leaking horribly (I'm at the point now where I'm filling the radiator every time I go somewhere, and it's empty by the time I get there).
Does anyone know what this piece is called by my description? I might be able to post a pic later if needed. I tried to go to my local Auto Zone and the guy had NO idea. I had him pull up an exploded view on his computer, and the part wasn't there. Is this something I'm going to have to get from the dealership?
Any and all input would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
