I hope ur expectations of the superchips flashpaq isn't too high.
It doesn't work miracles.
I'm glad I didn't pay retail cost for it.

Need some help:

I plugged my flashpaq in the other day, not sure how I got to the Tire change height menu option, but I was able to change sizes, but I was trying to adjust for my 33s, and thought I selected it, and then clicked ok.
I compared my Speedo to my gps it was still off about 6mph.
When I tried to find that tire menu again, I can't find it!!!
How do I get back to it?
What menu is it under??

I was told it was Under the Advanced Tune > Options menu, but its not there!!
How did it come up just that one time and why cant i get back to it?

havent had any real issues with it..

i am just confused. i have been told that 95 and up have electronic controlled speedo/odometers, and older ones have to be recalibrated by replacing a gear at the cable end at the transmission/transfercase.

I have also been told that the superchips will only recalibrate speedo/odo for 2000 and newer... if this is so... and i cant adjust tire size because mine is a 1999, then HOW did that menu come up? and why cant i get it to come up again?

It should be under advanced tune. Just look around on the device. It wont kill your truck. There are different option menus.

yeah I will check it again.
I have looked all around and couldn't find it.
I don't see how one day I pluged it in and somehow it showed up but now it's just not showing up.
Almost like it was a glitch or something.

According to the superchips tech guy, 99 was the first year they had programmers for the rangers, but they didn't go to electronic speedometer/odometer til later on, so it won't recalibrate it.
If so, its just weird that I got it to come up some how just one time.

Here's copies of the email correspondence from Superchips:

Superchips---You will find the tire size option in advance tune it is controlled through the abs module. So on vehicle with abs that we tune we are able to change the tire size for tire calibration.

Me- I don't see it in the advanced tune menu, just Performance Tune, Heavy Tow, Gas Saver, and Stock w/options.
Is it suppose to be listed here, or in one of these sub menus? Because it's not here or any any of those sub menus at all

Superchips- There are 2 ways to find out if you can adjust the tire size.

1) If you were to go under the vehicle and look toward the rear half of the transmission, you may see a tube/cable going to the rear of the transmission. The cable will be about ½ an inch thick. If you only see 2 wires going into a sensor then you have a speed sensor. And a speedo gear if you have the ½ inch thick cable.

2) You can also make sure you have an ABS module under the hood. You can trace your brake lines from the brake distribution block to the abs module.

Me - Ok I see both, this is obvious because I do have ABS. Or at least I have an ABS light that comes on when I start the truck then goes off.

Hey How are you guys doing? I am BrianYoung55 I would like to get a chip for my 99 Xtra cab, are you pleased with your purchase ? My '99 ranger has 85K original and I would like to boost my performance a bit for the mileage. How much increase in MPG do you measure? You guys both got sweet trucks, forsure. I live in Chico Ca and just entered into this forum yesterday. It looks prettty cool.

I think it is worth the money, you won't notice much faster, but the torque is what's nice from this product. I can chirp my tires from a stop with my auto, which it couldn't do after the 31's. I've found that performance mode gives the best mileage as well, I've ran two tanks through it and got about 2-2.5 mpgs better. Not huge but put it this way, I put twenty bucks(5.2 gals) in usually and get 100 miles mixed, now I can get 125 or 30 if I'm nice
