hey guys i have a 2000 2wd, and i disconnected the battery yesterday to replace my cruise control switch lights to LEDs, and when i connected the battery back, the truck had no power....i let it sit there for about an hour and i opened the door nd the dome light came on then as soon as i sat and put my foot on the brake to start it, all lights turned off and i heard a click noise from the glovebox and i then took the key out and waited for a few mins and tried again and nothing, so my questiion is, what could cause my brake pedal to turn off all battery supplied power to the cab? i have a standard so i've just been roll startring it and once the engine has started everything works fine again....so i'm extremely confused

Have you checked the battery cable, might not have got it back tight, or clean.

^ this or a long shot would be tampering with cruise pods somehow messed up the clutch position switch or brake switch killing power to the starter relay

i checked the cables on the battery, there was a little bit of corrosion so i cleaned it all off, tightened the cables back as much as possible and still nothing

my guess as to why the brake pedal causes all cab power to shut off would be that it takes more energy(and i had the battery checked yesterday and its just dead) to use the brake system so all the power is taken from the cab and put to the brakes? idk..

but if the battery was dead why would all the lights still work before i put the key in or touched the brake pedal???

That's really strange could of had a surge when you re connected the battery. Still really confusing. Check all your fuses something might have blown. But still strange. I'd have that checked by a mechanic if it doesn't eventualy work itself out. Still check the fuses under the hood as well as in the cab
