Exclamation NO Spark from any of my plug wires!

Just changed my fuel pump, and put new plugs in and rolled the key over the engine rolls but doesn't' crank. checked the fuel pressure it's good. checked the air filter it's good. only thing left is fire! there is none! checked all my fuses all good. I'm thinking its my coil pack! can anyone give any suggestions before I spend $80 on them and not need it. any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm new here so not sure this is the best post for help. But plan to get better at it and help others. Hopefully.

i have an O scope. i hear ya can ck a coil pack to see if it's working. i believe it's around 300 amps should be putting out. still researching. might just buy the pack and see what happens... also someone said it might be the computer? will be lost if it's that.

This might be helpful, I ran into this looking for info also on how to test a coilpack.

1)I don't know what this means..... "engine rolls but doesn't' crank"

2)was the problem there before you did the work?

3) I don't think it is the coilpack......most of the time when a ciolpack goes it is a few cylinders......they work in pairs. you can test the CP with a MM.get yourself a multimeter and a haynes manual

that is an excellant link. I bookmarked it.......it was saying the same thing I said....the coilpacks usually get a crack in them and some water gets in there and then either 1 or 2 cylinders start acting up......when none of them are not sparking it is usually something else

I roll the key over. And the engine rolls over like it wants to crank. But not getting fire. That was what I meant it rolls. I meant rolls over. And thanks for the link. I ran across one myself. Will post the link up later. Extremely helpful and easy to understand, For cking coil packs.

----------

When I get home I'm going to ck the pip and the computer. Found them on that link as well.

----------

Lol. Same link. Thanks.

-I think what you want to say is the "engine cranks but will not fire"......that means it is turning over but will not start

-I will be glad to help you and I am sure we can figure this out no problem, however you need to read the posts and answer all the questions the best you can ....on post #5 question #2 you forgot to answer .here it is .... 2)was the problem there before you did the work?

Modelageek yhea I'm going to ck the voltage just learned which wires to ck for voltage, ground, and the wires that signals the coil pack to send the spark. So will look into all that when I get home. I have a Haynes book and a meter. Time is never on my side though. Thanks for the input.

----------

And yes the problem was there before I changed the pump. I knew my pump was bad though because I didn't here it. And had a friend roll the key over and she had no pressure. Changed the pump. I hear it and I have pressure. And that's when I noticed no spark. Hoped it was just the pump. But now I see it's more to it not running. And yes I changed the fuel filter as well

----------

And correction to myself: the engine tries to crank but doesn't fire.

ok thanks the problem was there before you did the work........I would get a code reader and check for codes and or pending codes......I would do this before I did anything.I think your coil might end up testing out fine..

Are you absolutely sure the coil is plugged in?

I know it sounds really stupid, but I've seen it happen before.

Picking up my camshaft sensor today. Will post if that's the fix. All power and fuses are good. I pulled the camshaft sensor off and the metal was rusting off and falling apart on the inside. So I'll see what happens this evening when I get the new one

you are skipping steps but that is your prerogative......You should invest in a $20 code reader and see if you had codes? you never posted if you had power at the coilpack? did you test the coilpack for ressistance? I hope you are getting the new syncro also and not just the cam sensor?..........I always thought that for the most part the engines would start with a bad cam sensor. I thought a bad cranks sensor was the one taht keeps them from starting.........we will see........please post the results
