Default squeek.

okay, so my pickup makes a squeeking noise when im driving that picks up pace in its squeeks when the rpms go up. it has always done this in reverse but just recently in drive it has been doing this. it only happens sometimes but when it does, its annoying as hell. sounds like its coming from the tranny because when im moving and throw it into neutral it quits squeeking. its really bad at about 15 mph and right on take off. Any ideas? Thanks Gents.

Ok, sounds like the cam sync sensor might be going to bad. Take the belt off, start the truck and see if it still squeaks. If it dont, they the CSC is ok.

Try to pinpoint where the squeak is coming from too. Start the truck and stand beside the driver side fender and listen for it. If it sounds like it coming from the back that leads to the CSC.

but it only does it when im moving...and it doesnt sound like its coming from the engine. it actually sounds like its coming from right below the cab. thats another reason i think its the tranny. engine runs fine.

I had the same problem, the squeaking was towards the back of the block right next to the tranny. It turned about to be my camshaft position sensor.

if its coming from right below the cab, it may be the U-joints. i had to replace mine awhile back.

I am thinking a U-joint too. Probably a dry joint.
Any vibration? Clunk when put in gear?
