do you have 12v at the starter? will the starter turn if you unbolt it from truck but leave it wired in?

check power and grounds to make sure everythin is good. Thats a common problem for those two to be off. The starter is grounded through the block so make sure that the block is grounded and your getting 12v to the starter when trying to start and make sure the ign wire to the soliniod is getting fire to start the truck.

on the soliniod theres a small wire that sends the fire to the starter from the battery. Check and make sure that small wire gets voltage from the ignition switch. If the wire does not have fire look into the ignition switch. Also with the starter off take some jumper cables and make sure that the bendix kicks out when fire is put to the alternator. I went through like 3 starters bc the bendix wouldnt make contact to the flywheel.

if the bendix isn't kicking out it's not engaging the flywheel. while it's out check the flywheel make sure it's not damaged. but bad starter. get another. mine would just turn the starter but it wouldn't engage.
