Does it only do it when its warmed up? I know my truck started shifting weird, then after checking some things out also noticed the transmission fluid looked original after 70,000. Changed the fluid and noticed a better shift. Unfortunately I really cant think of any specific reason why a transmission would shift differently other than age.

If it is only when warmed up it means that the fluid is either dirty/ old and is not flowing properly. When was the last time that the Trans fluid was changed?

After reading your signature more carefully I realized you have the same engine/tranny. I went out and ran my truck around to the store and got it warmed up. I don't have a tach, but according to my SG-II I shift roughly around 2500-2800 depending on how much i'm pushing the pedal obviously. honestly, I hate the transmission they put in this truck. I got it when it only had 40k on it and it felt like it was already going out. Slowly began to realize this is just the way it shifts. I was so used to driving a stick that I'd forgotten how inefficient an auto can be.

Bright pink? Doesn't smell burnt?

there's a good pic at the bottom of the page. Sorry if this seems simple, just want to cancel out as many possibilities to narrow it down.
