Default Helpp1 Driving Home from work and I lost oil pressure and died

I was on my way home from work and I lost oil pressure and the truck died. and would not start back up. I coasted it into a parking lot and noticed that there was water leaking from somewhere. It could be that I lost pressure from the engine shutting down. Its not seized because the engine is cranking fine just not starting. ): help

:update: There is no spark at the coil pack. The EECIV is saying that there is a problem with the Mass Air Flow sensor and the ECU itself. I will be heading to the junkyard tomorrow after work to pick up a new ecu and mass air flow and I will post the results.

Check the camshaft position sensor. There is a nylon gear on it, that also turns your oil pump. Before removing, be sure and read up on how this is timed. You should set timing before you remove it!

This ^^ sounds like the cam syncro to me too, very common problem with the 3.0's

What caused water leaking?

IIRC the 3.0 also has a problem in the area of the timing cover...i think the water pump in that general area

the truck just dies and water leaks? Make no sense to me. or maybe it was just an hose connection flexing if it was a violent shut down and the whole motor jerked and only needs a tightening.

I had a chevy Elcamino I was driving cross country. I stopped to get gas in Texas and as I was pumping it I watched as this green liguid flowed past my feat. My Rad just dumped right there with no warning. Had a hole in my radiator, I am sure there is a reason why it waited until I truned the car off of to pour out but I don't know it. Put a bottle of stop leake in and finished my drive to San Fran area for C school.

they could be unrelated, and he just noticed the water leak when he was looking over the truck for the reason for shut down.

Mine did this alot and it was the crank sensor on the bottom pully..I sanded it down to clean it up and never had another problem.

Well I should of posted all of the codes it gave me. It gave me the ECT out of self test range, Mass Air Over Voltage and something with the ECU. I forget exactly. It wasn't a hose, checked all of them, It didn't shut down violently it just stopped running while I had it in gear. I replaced the ecu and that didn't do anything but that could be another bad ecu with the luck I have been having lately. I just said screw it and I took it down to my friends mechanic because I don't have the necessary tools, time or money to go hunting for the problem because I have to many projects that I need to finish. in the shop and everytime I get a second to work on it, its to damn cold. I post the results of the repair when I get the truck back.

turned out it was the distributor was bad and my water hose cracked at the exact same time as the engine failure. I guess I read the codes wrong... I feel like a complete schmuck... now I have to shell out 370 for it although he did a lot of other stuff to it so its pretty worth it.

It's possible the hose blew and the water got in the distributor. Though I don't know how that would make it eat gears.
