Default I FOUND a cold air intake for a 97 ford ranger.

This is the only cold air intake i have ever found for a 1997 3.0L ranger. It says it uses the stock intake manifold and replaces my cylinder air box.
How would this work? this picture just has a filter and a metal thingy.

if only i had a 4.0L or 2.3L, everything would be a lot simpler because they dont make anything for the 3.0 it seems

The MAF bolts to the bracket allowing you to run a cone filter and allowing your engine maximum access to hot air.

ya. alright. well i dont know if its worth 150$ to get a small horsepower gain, if any. FX4 says my intake is already pretty much the best it could get. Ill just put a k&n performace filter in and that should be good enough.

basically if you dont have something covering your air filter ( ie stock box cover) you would be running a WAI = warm air intake. if u ran a cone filter with the stock box cover you would in essence would have CAI =cold air intake

so warm and cold air intakes produce the same effect (ie hp gain, etc)? other than the physical differences
