Exclamation 3.0L 98 ranger serpentine belt issue

Ok so me and my dad decided to replace the belt on the ranger and even with the tension pulley maxed out(seems like) we cannot get the belt to go on,we are using a 882K6 belt bu its just not quite big enough,it is the belt recommended.I was wonder if using a 890K6 would be ok as long as the tensioner can tighten it? I just dont understand why it is so difficult, thanks alot guys!

Oh just to add, would removing the fan be the best way to try to get more leverage and clearance?I didnt think you have to do that because we are starting with the ratchet straight up and down and going all the way clockwise until it hits the battery tray and its just not enough.

I can say that when I replaced mine it was a PITA. I had to slide mine underneath the idler pulley about 1/2 way on and then had the old lady bump the motor over a few times. The belt went right on. I tried and tried to max out the idler pulley and just slip it on but no matter how hard I tried this was the only way I was able to get it on.
