The other two belts lasted around 35,000 a piece before needing to be changed. The squeaking noise will sometimes go away when the belt finally warms up, other times it will not. Do you think it could be the idler pulley or the belt tensioner? Thanks!
Imagine that. Mine has 79000 on it.

I had a bad squeal coming from my 99 3.0 ranger. Changed it with a delco 883 belt and it fixed it for about a day. Then after driving it for about a day it came back slowly. Started out like a chirp then turned into a squeal. Went away at low RPMs and increased as did RPMs. Changed out the idler pulley and the tensioner pulleys. Didn't fix it. Thought it may have been the alternator or ac compressor. Turns out autozone sells two different sizes of belts for this type of engine. I got the more expensive belt the first time and it turned out to be too long causing the belt to still slip. Get the 882 size belt. Solved the problem!!

I chased a belt chirping and squealing for a couple days. Changed belt, pulleys and was fixin to pull off the alt. when it ended up being a weak spring in the old tensioner. I was able to take everything back and was only out the tensioner. (O'rileys)
