Default Need Help. Replaced Fuel pump but not coming on

About a week and a half ago, I cleaned the engine off with a high pressure washer after replacing the EGR valve. It started up afterwards and it ran much better (after I replaced the EGR valve) but I tried to start it in my driveway later that day and nothing but dry cranking, the relay was clicking but no fuel pump coming on. Dropped tank, saw that rubber filling hose was cracked and rotted at tank, (I suspected this because when I topped tank, gas would run on the ground) so I found one online for 50.00, Ford wanted 450.00 HA! right! Advance gave me the wrong fuel pump. Auto zone had the right one. I went through the hell of dropping tank and replacing pump and fuel tank filling hose. I connected the neg. battery wire and then tried to start it and same dry cranking and not hearing fuel pump come on! What is the problem??? Thanks, Craig

UPDATE! I checked all of the wiring connections and everything looked tight. Looked at the Haynes repair book and did not get any ideas. Looked in the manual and saw that there is a shut off switch and and reset button. It is located in front of the passenger door below dash, behind panel near floor. I did nto see a switch unless it is internal but I saw a red button and I pushed it. After cranking 3 times, it fired up. I guess the fuel pump I replaced was not bad. Don't know why the fuel pump reset button went off. All I know know is that it runs strong and smooth and has a good 100k miles left in it. God Bless.

I think that when I was vacuuming the floor on the passenger side, the end of the vacuum may have hit against the plastic panel covering the reset button and caused it to pop up. That's the best reason that I can come up with.
