I replaced mine a few weeks ago on a pretty rusty truck. It was a huge pain for sure, but at least you wont have to pull the motor.

Search "Ford work instructions to replace oil pan 3.0 4x4" I posted the work instructions I got from the Ford Dealer.

The lock tite is from getting oil changes at Auto Service places. They do that so you can't say they did not put it back in and also so if the line is broken they are not reliable cause you removed the drain plug.

i had put jb weld on my chevy k1500's oil pain aswell. ended up replacing the pan as the oil kept seeping through. P.I.T.A as i had to remove the f'n 4x4 pumpkin, and this was on an 89 plow truck. in new england. where salty roads are common.

it may be able to be fixed tho. You should drain the oil, peel off that crap and see what the actual problem is. If its just a crack it can be cleaned wire wheeled and some oil safe epoxy should fix it up. Now if there is a big hole under there.......your F'ed!
