Default Optimal Idle Speed- Need Input

I noticed the screw on the throttle body allows me to manually adjust the idle speed of my truck. I wanted to know what you all have yours set at and what speed would be optimal for fast acceleration from a stop. Or even a in between for fuel economy and take off ability. The truck currently runs at about 1000 rpm. But starts cold at about 1500 and drops to 1000 within 5 seconds.

That stop screw is NOT for idle speed adjustment. That throttle plate needs to be CLOSED completely when at idle. The screw is the stop to keep it from closing too far and getting jammed. You really should never even need to adjust it at all anyway. The Idle Air Control Valve (IAC) controls your idle speed via the computer. You should not tinker with it. You will gain nothing as far as performance.
