Default Re: Cruise Control Diagnostics

There are three independent switches inside the Clutch Pedal Position switch assembly. So it could be possible for the speed control to be disabled by the CPP (or its wiring) and still have the starter circuit work.

For 2002, the cruise cancel switch in the CPP assembly interrupts the connection from the red/light green to the tan/light blue. Switch should be normally closed and open when the clutch is depressed.

Bob I remember this now.

I remember it being one switch for starting, one for cruise, and one that sends a signal to the ECU.

I remember asking a question about the signal to the ECU that you replied to before now.

ok thanks, I have another ranger i bought for parts so ill pull that brake switch and give it a try, iv been noticing something else going on i think might be related to that brake switch, my ABS wont activate and my brakes lock up alot easier than they should, they seem very sensitive all of the sudden. very little pressure on the peddle to get alot of brake action, could they be related issues? both seem to have started around the same time. I have no ABS light on or any codes coming up.
