Default Over drive flashed today

So my overdrive light started flashing today, it made the transmission go from driving normal then to the transmission thinking the over drive was turned off and so the ride was not smooth at all.
I heard this could mean I have a bad torque converter?

How hard are those to replace?

2wd are a lot easier then 4x4. If your mechanically inclined should take 4-6 hours but that aint hustling. You have to drop the exhaust, pull rear driveline, remove tranny crossmember, remove starter, misc plugs, and bellhousing bolts.
