Default Avg mpg for 3.0 2wd?

I'm curious as to what everyone else gets for average mpg on the highway and city. When I first bought my truck I was getting 15 city 19 highway and then I did full tune up, changed all the fluids, new tires, ran some stuff through the gas tank and engine (can't remember what off the top of my head) and then went up to about 18 city and 24 highway at 85 mph.

Does anybody's truck top out at about 95? When I get to about 95-97, it won't go any faster. It'll do gas and then seem like it cuts off and then gas, so on and so.

I'd use the search but I have dial up speed internet where I'm at in the world right now. Sorry if this has been answered/asked before.

your mpg seems similar to mine when my truck was stock. i was getting around 22, but i had hills on the freeway back then.

and these trucks are limited to 94mph if i remember right.

The mpg differs from driver to drive on how they drive and how fast they accelerate. my truck gets 19 city and i dont really drive highway so cant say what that is but im guessing maybe +4 mpgs. the best way to get high mpgs on the highway is to not go faster than 70-75 mph so if you slow down a little your mpg should go up a little. id say mpg can differ 15-20 mpg with some people with big tires and what not

Some of our rangers do have governor which dont let it go above 95 mpg but thats good because you shouldn be going that fast unless on a close track being on a road you maybe injure/kill someone else and our rangers are just not high speen machine ha.

hope that helps

I was just kind of curious about the speed thing, I didn't know if it was the governor or if something was just wrong with my truck. I also wanted to know about the mpg bc I read somewhere that they should get about 30-31 with the 3.0. I know mine would be a little lower since I average about 80 on the highway. I drove 500 miles every other weekend to get home from work, I just wanted to get home in a hurry and it was always dark out so no cars on the road so I drove faster then normal.

I don't know where you heard that from but only the 4 bangers get that. A 3.0 should get anywhere from 18-22 on the hwy depending how you drive and where you drive. Slow down to averaging about 65-70 and your fuel consumption will drop drastically.

You are getting really good gas mileage for a 3.0.

I don't know the exact numbers, but it definitely isn't where i'd love it to be. But I have 4.10's and a heavy foot, so that may have a bit to do with it.

I get 18 and 25 mpgs. My top speed is 120 mph. Mine was wide open from the factory which is strange in itself. My tach goes up to 6200 rpms but the maximum read out is 7000 rpms on my tach. That's what mine does, but I try to keep it aroung 1100 rpms in the city, and around 2500 on the interstate. Those 4.10's really help within the city, but on interstate it's a different story. 65 mph is around 2500 rpms. but once I go beyond that fuel mileage drops like a lead brick. I'm pushing around 2,900 rpms at 75 mph. My speedo is 4 miles faster than I'm actually going though.
