Default Engine broke down, simple fix BUT why?

So i recently went on a camping trip and on the way there the truck broke down just as i was driving it

we were on the hwy so its not like shit was bouncing around and stuff
but amyways all it took was a quick reset of the inertia activated fuel pump shut off switch

and then 2 hours later , i parked, came back 5 mins later and it wouldnt start...so reset it again and worked perfectly since

so any theories? truck did not act weird at all and did very well despite being loaded and going thru shitload of curves and hills lol

Depending on how steep of an incline and speed/degree of the turns, it could have easily set off the inertia switch, its there to shut off fuel in case of an accident or roll over.

So if the hills were good enough on the way down and such, it could have tripped it. Has it happened since?

this happend on the flat land (but it was going thru curves alll week after that)

and yes i realize its there for that stuff but it shouldnt have happend there at all.

i had it shut off going thru rough terrain a few months back and it finally got set off and that was only cuz it wassnt mounted to the wall for some reason (it is now)

has not happend since...

this is the 4th time its happend..... in the exact order..itll get set off and then later wont start then wil be fine afterwards

----------

looking for possible reasons OTHER than it being activated by inertia

I had one on my wife's car get really sensitive. She would have it go off while driving around town and I just pulled one off a car in the junk yard and replaced it and never had another problem. Mechanic said it shouldn't go off unless it senses a hard impact or the vechical flips on to its side or worse. I would look for a donor car and swap it.

Rangers are equipt with Alcohol sensors , It has been a government conspiracy for many years, I uncovered just last week when I drove a friend home who was drunk, and when I dropped him, I heard a mechanical voice that said, "good job. and thanks for carrying" I could not make anything of this until a friend of mine called me up and told me of the same issues he was having with his Ranger. So as I drove up on his stalled vehicle, I noticed a strong stinch of ALCOHOL coming from his breath, I looked at the vehicle and ask him to start it up. The car would not start, But when I got behind the drivers seat, I heard the voice again, but with a few more words.

It said, "GOOD JOB, AND THANKS FOR CARRYING" By the way, keep that fucking drunk out of my way.

My question to you is that since you started a thread about "Favorite alcoholic beverages" Than maybe your ranger is trying to help you by not allowing your drunk ass behind the will, lolLOLOLOLOOOLOLOLLOLOLOLOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLL< HHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA RMAO I got you Eric.

Here in Florida when you get repeat DUI's they install a little device in the car that prohibits the car from starting when it detects alcohol on your breath. One of my friends had this installed on his truck. He made the choice to never drink again, because they butchered the wiring on his truck and the ticket was pretty hefty. Anyways, one day we were driving, and we got a call from another buddy of ours. Apparently he was drunk and needed a lift. So we picked him up and headed towards his place. He saw the breathalyzer thing, picked it up, and proceeded to blow into it not knowing it was set to shut the truck off if it sensed alcohol. The truck just shut off right there. We pulled over on the side of the road, and after my drunk buddy got his ass kicked, we had someone else come out and tow us home on the trailer. My sober buddy was PISSED because he had to answer to his probation officer as to why the monitor went off while the truck was moving. Luckily I was there to back him up as was the other guy that towed us, so they let him off with a warning to better conceal the breathalyzer.

Ok. So anyway, your inertia switch is defective. Install a new one and problem will go away.

Uh, well considering you started this thread and described the multiple times it has failed, it sounds to me like it is already an actual problem?
