The E85 is crap. You can't really store it for long periods of time because from what I'm told the ethanol is more prone to absorbing water and thus becoming what is commonly known as "bad gas." And I know I don't want to pay more for a shittier gasoline. It's wallet and fuel economy raping at its best. Thanks Government!

I know that my truck definitely runs better on 89 octane. Driving out in the hill country the engine starts pinging go up big hills and I have to down shift sooner using 87 octane. Gas mileage is a mile per gallon better also.

Yeah the pinging that I thought was normal with this engine at low rpms and high torque has went away and it still looks like I am doing 1.5 mpg better.

try the race fuel with lead. Supposidly the lead will make a tighter seal on the valve seats and the piston rings, giving a higher compression ratio... I have no idea about that claim, but I will say that I run 110 leaded in my harley and she runs like a champ! it is by far night and day from 110 - 93, and from 93 - 87, the bike dont even run. Its atleast 93 for the bike, but at 6.58 a gal for 110 its hard to run that all the time
