Default Seafoam question

I know there are tons of questions on this,
but my friend who's a mechanic for stavola says not to use seafoam on higher mileage engines being that it will remove the bad build up, but whatever good was built up as well?
I ended up putting a bottle of that STP stuff in and I felt it made my truck run like shit, and i still wanna do seafoam, but what my friend said confused me a little

some cars have like a build up of sludge in the motor, sea foaming could potentially make that sldge go away but could also possibly knock sludge into places where it damages the motor or makes the motor leak oil from the sludge unblocking a hole or whatnot.

There is sludge, carbon and other junk. Go to the auto parts store read a can of it. It will tell you what it does

If you keep it clean in the first place there is no sludge.

Park the truck in a nice open spot away from anybody.

Disconnect the brake booster hose and try to position the hose so it stays pointing up, so you can pour the Seafoam in.

Take the plastic cover off your throttle body.

Start the engine, it will run real ruff due to the vacuum leak at the brake booster hose.

Open the can of Seafoam and put it in your right hand, grab the throttle with your left.

Open the throttle so the engine revs pretty good and pour in a good steady stream of Seafoam in the hose, do so till you have used about 1/3 of the can.

By this point you are noticing a lot of smoke, once you are finish pouring it in quickly turn off the engine.

Run away from the truck then turn around and laugh with your friends.

Let it sit for about 15 min, while you are doing so you can re install everything you took off.

Take the truck out for a 5 min wild ride, lots more smoke.

I've never heard of it being put in through the throttle body. Engine block, booster line, and fuel tank and thats it

So that doesn't sound too difficult. Unfortunatly I don't know where the break boost line is or the throttle cover. Are there any pictures showing the engine compartment with those labeled?

One thing I learned over the years is that with video capturing so cheap and available, most of the time anyone does anything it ends up on youtube.
