If the '99 is PATS equipped, you had best head on down to the the local drug store and lay in a supply of Advil.
Aren't the 4.0 engines pretty easy to find? My kid had a '95 Exploder in high school and that sucker just kept taking anything that was thrown at it, well almost, it didn't hold up to an Elk very well. But the engine was still running strong right to the end, and didn't use a drop of oil in between changes. In fact, that was the first vehicle that I ever owned that didn't use oil.
IMO, your better off with another 4.0. Way to much brain damage to swap in a 3.0.
