95 Ranger will not start
6 cylinder
3.0
Will not start
Will go to 1000 rpm then die
First I thought it was the fuel pump so i changed it and it was not the problem.
Changed the fuel filter still would not run.
Then i took off the air intake the poured gas into the (carburetor) into the motor and the truck ran as long as i feed it gas that that.
What could cause this problem ?

Re: 95 Ranger will not start
Clean your IAC. Throttle body, MAF, and check your coil pack. wires and plugs. Then if that doesnt solve it we will go from there

Re: 95 Ranger will not start
Try the same trick I just learned in the previous post, disconnect neg battery cable, unplug MAF (at end of air intake pass front), reconnect battery cable then see if it runs. If thats the case there's instructions in the post just prior to yours as to how to clean the MAF.

Umm, ok lets back up a little bit here. First you said it won't start, then you said it goes to 1000rpm. So is it starting or not?
Then you said you poured gas into the carburator, but you don't have a carb on 3.0L.
So start this all over. Year, make, model, engine, and mods you have done ever, and what you were doing when this started happening. Please do not say anything else until you answer those questions, because everything you said before is contradicting itself and making this impossible.

Re: 95 Ranger will not start
well if i take apart where the air filter is and then pour gas at the point where the air would come in it will run as long as i feed the gas from there.

ok so one day i go to start my truck and it will not start
it will only go to 1000 rpm then die every time i turn the key
so i change the fuel pump and fuel filter and will not work still
i take off the part where the air goes into the motor and pour gas into it to see if the truck will start that way
and it goes as long as i feed it gas where the air intake is

i just dont understand how it will run when it gets gas feed from the air intake and not run just normal
so what it is telling me is that there is a fuel problem i think ?

Re: 95 Ranger will not start
Good lord that made me dizzy.
First, stop pouring gasoline into the air intake before you blow yourself up.
Get a fuel pressure gauge and check the fuse pressure. The '95 should be either 35 or 65psi, I forget what year they went to the higher pressure. Someone here knows.
