Default Coolant leak on 2000 V6 Flex Fuel

Just noticed a dripping coolant on passenger side couple days ago. Removed front skid plate, and high pressure sprayed the engine from above and below, then drained, flushed, and refilled coolant and added some stop-leak (sawdust-like stuff from O-Reilly's). Ran engine for a while, still noticed a leak after a while, which seemed to come from the plastic manifolds that are on either side of the radiator. A slow drip. Stops when engine is off for a while.

I noticed that it now drips from both sides of those plastic "manifolds." What are those? Can they be replaced separately from the radiator?

Anyone else experience this?

Thanks!

Personally I would just see how much it would replace the radiator. I have heard that you can replace them and then I have also heard that you couldn't replace them. But that's just my .02.

Just curious as to what those side plastic manifold things are that the coolant return and feed hoses are connected to...why would they leak?

When they make them in the factory there is a rubber seal where they meet. Sometimes the dry out and crack. On older radiators those prices were metal and soldered/brasses on. I can't think of their actual name at the moment. I know it will eventually come to me.

Same thing happened to mine, its basically dry rotted the plastic away, I priced it and it was about the same if I remember to get a new radiator then try to have the plastic pieces fixed/replaced... I am not very mechanical when it comes to doing things with trucks but I changed mine by myself, prob took longer than it should have but I got it done and did it right!

Thanks for all the great replies!

After a couple days with the stop leak (saw dust stuff) the leak seems to have stopped. But I had to take it in anyway to get the A/C lines replaced due to leak, and asked them to pressure check the coolant system, and order me a new radiator if it failed. I don't want to drive any appreciable distance with a possible radiator failure.

The radiator seems easy enough to replace myself. Will let you all know how it turns out.

Also, they are checking on a massively loud pulley that squeaks whenever the engine gets wet. Asked them to replace serpentine belt, too...

I would normally do all this stuff myself, but am over 40 now, and kinda busy with lots of software projects, kids, RVing, etc...

Thanks!
