Default rough idle

ok I know a lot of people have or do have this problem. I have done a full tuneup including cleaning the TB,IAC, and am about to do the MAF. I have changed the plugs and wires but the rough idle is still there. There are no codes or CEL on and it nevers talls but it is rough. It also surges up and down slighty sometimes. I am thinking of replacing the IAC and/or the EGR valve. Any other diagnostics or suggestions?

thanks

A surging idle is usually the IAC valve. Does it seem to surge when the A/C compressor kicks on and off? Cleaning the IAC doesn't always help.

A new IAC usually costs around $45. I got mine from Autozone with a 2 year warranty.

ok cool, well I don't have A/C but I will check the price of a new IAC and hopefully that helps.

Ahhh okay. Well for the most part you still notice the drop in idle. The first time I had one go out, the truck wouldn't idle worth anything at stop lights. I'd have to hold the gas slightly just to keep it running. The second time around when my new(used) one failed, the truck idled okay, but it would fluctuate with the A/C compressor cycle. So I said enough and just bought a new one.

I know there are no codes on the truck because I just had my truck checked for codes at my last oil change. So I'll probably get a new IAC valve and maybe a new EGR valve and see what that does.

ok so I was going to buy a new IAC but it's flippin' $200 bucks to replace the damn thing. I thought it would be $80 tops. So I'll try cleaning it again and maybe replace the egr valve and see what happens.

Where did you go? Ford? Go to Autozone or Advance, they're like $45 there.

Ahhhh, good ol Canada.

That definitely sucks. They need to get some of those parts manufacturing places up there for y'all.
