Default Another compatibility question

Ive got a 2002 Ranger with a 3.0 (not flex fuel) that Im gonna replace. Ive ound one in a 2001 model, same engine, 3.0 not a flex,. They told me id have to swap intakes and oil pan off my old motor to the 2001 model to make it work in my truck. Ive also looked up remanufactured engines on advanced auto site and its giving me a different part #......can anyone help me or maybe ellaborate on the reason, if any a 2001 model is different. maybe causing it not to work

Thnaks again

Default Re: Another compatibility question

Well to answer my own question in case anyone out there needs to know later on I recently put the 3.0 out of a 2001 model into my 2002 model and indeed it does work. The only difference I saw was the intake plenum which I used off my 2002 model engine and there was no place on the 2001 model engine to bolt the knock sensor too so I jus hung it out of the way and everything seems to be doing fine. Ohh and you have to use your old motor mounts as well....lol
