Default Went through a deep mud puddle, now runs like shit

So I took my ranger on a trial ride and went through a pretty big puddle, i put it in 4 wheel and drove out of it but my truck runs like crap now. when it starts its idles high for a couple seconds and it has no power at all. If im driving in first gear and floor it it just skips out and acts real sluggish. I think what happened was i sucked up water into my vaccum lines through my cracked lines for my hubs. Does anyone have any idea how to fix it or at least clear my vaccum lines?

i would be less suspect of the vacuum lines and i would guess that you sucked water in through the intake. i would pull the air filter out and make sure its not soaked with water.

Pull your spark plug wires and spray them with wd-40 let dry apply new dielectric grease. Sounds like spark is breaking up. Are you tuning a open filter?

I already checked the intake and that was clean. Ill try the WD-40 too. Any other suggestions?

Did you check the filter? How about disconnecting the MAF to see how the connections look? After doing that did you spray it with electronics cleaner, let it sit for a few minutes, then hook it back up? Did you take the air inlet tube off the intake and check it that way, or just look down the tube?

My advice is give up going through big puddles.

If the tests suggested don't let you find what got soaked I'd suggest finding a heated indoor garage and parking it for a bit to let it dry out... outside in weather isn't going to dry very much.
