Default Satan's truck

Hello everyone. I have read this forum extensively over the last couple of weeks and found some good advice. But alas, I am at an impasse.

Replace the IAV, it's cheap. From there, it sounds like you need a new engine lol Otherwise, I'm going to my happy place to think on this one a minute....

Has any work been done to the bottom end of the engine? Like main bearings, caps, etc?

----------

Other thoughts, are you sure the timing was set back correctly? They didn't accidentally turn the cam over when they changed the timing belt?

I'd just throw a V8 into it and MAKE IT WORK with PATS somehow. The 3.0 just isnt worth all that lol

Lol. No bottom end. Any insight on timing marks? I'm wondering if I'm 180 off. But loath to pull the valve covers too.

Is that engine OHC? I am not as familiar with the 3.0s as much.

It could be that the timing got bumped and you are not getting proper combustion

I tore off the cover last night, and I'm telling you, those marks are spot on, I'm leaving it open for now, just so I can take time to insure that its ok. I'm thinking of grabbing a dial guage to test tdc, but days go on.

Geez, that's alot of work you did.lol.

Richard, 3.0's are OHV, the last Ranger engine to be OHV and not SOHC.
