Why?!?!
why is my ranger governed at 90 instead of 100 like the 96 i owned? i know i don't need to go that fast and just tried to once to test how fast i could go. I know its not a race car and i don't drive it like one i just want the answer to my question please

that could just be speedometter error u know. my 96 ranger was governed at 100 it kindof disapoints me that this one wont go at least 95

and ive never really tried cept like 3 times to get to my max lol so i could be at 100 and not remember i just know when i hit 90 i back off

i know a guy who had a B3000 and he said his was governed at 90 as well

to keep people who don't have common sense or patience from killing themselves and trying to blame ford.
probably some type of regulation concerning vehicle type and maximum speed.

i heard it was because my truck is flex fuel but i don't buy that. lol i don't mind not being able to got 100 it would eat gas if i did that. i usaully keep it under 70 less wear and tear on the truck plus i get better mpg. most of my driving is in town so i average a speed of 30mph my speed demon days are over i had my fun now time to relax u could say

A lot of times the governed speed has to do with the OEM tires put on it by the plant.
Not sure what came on your truck new.
Just a thought...
