Stop speeding, check tire pressure, keep up on maintenance. or best thing for the 3.slow, replace with 2.3l lol

OK, I was talking about any mods, like changing the belt driven cooling fan with a electric one or changing the ring gear stuff like that.

I figure I get around 20 +/- highway here in east Tennessee. I do the speed limit or 5 under. Tires have pressure senors and keep the pressure at the top end.

I figure since the US isn't gonna drill for it's own oil, and start buying from Brazil, we hafta get these thing gettin' better mileage.

Know what I mean.

Driving style is the easiest and most effective but once you've got that to the limit have a look at this link for tested things that work or don't.

It's mostly not Ranger stuff but you can read and figure out what would work on our trucks.

An electric fan may help depending how you control it. However, the increase will be so minimal, the fuel you save will never make up for the cost of the mod. I did it. I have Griggs Controller so it will never run the fan while I'm moving, since ram air through the grill is more than enough to cool it without a fan. Once I stop and it starts to warm up, the fan doesn't come on until the coolant temp reaches about 220. My MPG increase was less than 1.

It's a 2003. 3.0, 2 wheel drive. Changed the air cleaner and the air handling system to clean any dirt in it, changed the oil with synthetic and oil filter of course, new plugs, wires, belts, radial tires (Nankooks) and put dynabeads in
cleaned the rear end and installed synthetic gear oil, (the trucks, not mine). I also removed the front wheel bearings, cleaned and re-lubricated them. I used 1/3 can of sea foam in the gas, oil and thru the vacuum system. Made sure the rear brakes were adjusted so not to rub while driving. Polished the body with colinite wax. Other than that....nothing..

I know u said u do the limit or lower, but I have an e fan, it did only give me one mpg increase, but recently I installed a vac gauge in my yruck, and I try to keep the vac around 20 while driving, also I use the cruise whenecer possible and keep the ac off, I get 19.7 mpg now, next up is a newfuel filter, and changing major fluids, but also if you check the alignment and get it straightend outthat will help a little, because then u wont be dragging the tires across the pavement
