Default WOT jerk

OK. like i said, when i bought that truck i bought the last owner trouble w it. So here goes... At low or high speed when i WOT the truck it starts to jerk. The revs go thru the roof but the truck doesnt go faster and it starts to jerk.

I have changed the gas filter, spark plugs, wires and i cleaned the thottle body and some other little thingy on top of the TB and the maf. I did notice a lot of gunk inside the intake probably from the oil on the K&N filter.

Now could this be a throtle body sensor or other things!

Any help welcome.

Auto transmissions in Rangers suck to put it politely. There are a few common issues that come about that can cause this. Any kind of lights coming on in the gauge cluster?

Codes.lol. Most everything in the trans is setup to throw a code, except when a hard part is gone. Even then, i'd imagine the trans would still somehow sense it as maybe an incorrect ratio and throw the O/D Off light.

Could it be possible that i hit the rev limiter??? The engine revs up to 5500 rpm but doesnt accelerate. It just jerk till i let go of the gas.

And the worst is that it doesnt always do that. i was coming home about an hour ago and it did great. about 20 mins to my place i tried it again and it started to jerk again...

Maybe. There's really no need to be at wide open throttle very many times, but does the truck shift normal when you're not at WOT?

Sounds like the cps. mine did the same stuff, replaced all that still did it. Unplug it from the back of the motor, the truck will still run will just throw a code light. Drive it see if it still does it?? If not change the cps problem solved..
