Post Oil leak again. How to do the timing?

Okay so if anyone knows about my oil leak, here we go again! So, been driving around back and forth to work and it hasn't even been three weeks and I can see a small patches of oil on the ground. Call up Mr. Tires and they said they would check it. Took it in yesterday and they checked it and said that a connector near the motor is supposed to have a "O" ring and it's worn out and needs to be replaced? Then they would have to do a timing afterwards. I told them fine just so it's under that warranty you gave me. They said and I quote, well, technically, we didn't touch that part but we will fix it and take care of you. Yeah bull shit!

So my question is, how can I do my timing for my truck once I figure out were it's coming from and possibly just fix the damn thing myself. I am so sick and tired of Mr. Tires I feel like I should sue them. Sorry if I wrote to much, I just want this oil leak to stop and for Mr. Tires to eat my shit while I watch . Thank you for any and all input.

-Jordan

They never fixed the original oil leak.

Did you have them show you said connector?

Nope, they did not show me and it crossed my mind so I forgot to ask (damn). But yeah, they said something about an O ring being worn out and needs to be replaced and when they do that, they have to re do the timing on the truck because they would have to disconnect this connector. But my sister and I are going there this Saturday and we will demand them to fix it under the warranty without me paying for shit. I already paid them over 1600 a couple of weeks ago to fix this problem and it has not been fix. I mean, the freaking oil dropping is coming from the same place. Really?! But yeah, that's what we're going to do this Saturday.

Follow up 3/24

Mr. Tires left me a voice message so I called them back to see what's up. They told me that the cam synchronizer is bad and that it needed to be changed. The gasket that needs to be changed as well is where the synchronizer is at. I can agree with them there because I had to get that part replaced I believe this past December and without any knowledge about the stuff, I got the Dorman brand. Got it installed from a different Mr. Tires location for about 100 something and it solved the problem. Now when I start the truck up, I hear a squeaking type noise when it's at an idle. It goes away after driving a few miles but I thought it was just some wet belts. But they said that it needs to be replaced and I think I can do it myself if someone can help me out on how to install it. I'm tired of going there and pray to God that I don't have to step foot back in that place again. So please help me. Thank you!

I'm busy at the moment, but advanced search cam synchronizer here, and look for any posts made by me in threads about the cam sync. I used to link people to a really good write up on RPS detailing what needs to be done, but I lost the link from my favorites, and it's hard to find on Google, at least for me.

I need to replace the cam synchronizer and a gasket inside of it or outside of it or underneath it? I don't know. Mr Tire guy said that the guy who knows this stuff told him that it was the cam synchronizer and that it needed to be replaced. I told them it was already replaced but I do not know if it has warranty. But what I have heard (after I bought and got it installed) was that Dorman products SUCK! And that's exactly what I bought because money was tight. So I'm guessing due to that small oil leak I have now, it's gotta be the cam because I got Dorman.

I actually found that awhile ago when I got off the phone. Didn't know you were talking about that one until you said RPS. And yes it was pretty easy to find because I posted on that thread

This looks like a better way for me to do it. I actually understood it the first time lol. It his part one of the installation of the cam synchronizer. What do you think Shaun and Diablo?

What do you mean by back of engine? Like everything in the engine bay in the back or the actual back of the engine? I really don't know but I believe it wasn't even a month ago I sprayed down some Purple Power real good underneath and in the engine bay, let it soak and then washed it down. So it shouldn't be that dirty but then again I could of missed a spot so I'm not 100% sure.

Do it the second part. It's more accurate.

As for the engine, I was asking because if the engine was dirty on the back, the built up grease would probably stop the oil from leaking onto the floor, hence telling me it's not the cam sync. Honestly, i've never heard of a cam sync leaking oil.lol. It's like a distributor, and how many times do they leak oil? Somebody wants your money. $10 says they either didn't even replace your oil pan gasket, or they fucked up the installation.

I'm pretty sure they replaced it but whatever they said that needed to be fixed/replaced apparently they didn't touch it and that I would have to pay for the part and for labor. I laughed on the phone. So I have no clue what the hell to do to get this small oil to stop effin leaking . It's really getting on my nerves.
