what are looking to get out of it? Different tuners have different functions.

i would either do the X-Cal III or the livewire. as far as tuning capabilities they both do the same thing but the livewire adds an external dash mounted display to allow you to monitor different parameters while driving. either way you go i suggest opting for custom tune files over the canned tunes that are offered with some of the SCT's.

You can get some tunes from them, other websites that offer it, and there is some people that members on the forum know that can be recommend for tunes. Just be careful and read the fine print and talk with the company, alot of times the tunes they send you are just "canned" tunes for your vehicle but not necessarily "custom" and the best for you especially if your running mods.

Mostly for good website and dealers, you can give them all your info and mods and they can work on the tunes accordingly. Also you could it do in person at say a dyno or a similar idea but this is neither cheap nor necessarily the best idea just for your ranger with minimal mods.
