Default preparing head surface 3.0

I remove the head because of that stupid broken bolt on the side of exhaust manifold, i already done that, i just need some tips/advice how to prepare the surface of the block and the head when putting back, to those who did this before, and things i need to check while this thing is open, i know you would suggest camshaft sensor assembly but its not chirping or CEL on it, and dont have money for that right now,i only did one side as thats where the broken bolt is hope you guys could share your experience!
