Talking 3.0 Spark Plug Change Advice

Hello All,

I am new to the forum but have owned my 2003 3.0 Flex Edge since new. I decided to give it a little tune up (hit 75k yesterday) and was looking for advice on removing the spark plugs/ changing the wires on the 3.0. I have heard it can be a pain in the @ss and would love any suggestions on what tools to get besides the basics ( I have a gapper, spark plug sockets, etc). Any first hand knowledge would be appreciated, my younger brother changed out the plugs on a Explorer that I think has the same engine and he said it was a huge pain.

Thanks in advance for any advice. I have already purchased the plugs and wires so no need for advice on that.

haynes manual would be good to,grab a mechanics gloves theyre quite cheap on harborfreight, save your knuckles, buy motorcraft or autolite sparkplugs, and put some compound so its easy to remove and replace the next time,im not familiar with you engine but with a Haynes manual would help a lot

A 3 inch and 6 inch extension and 2 swivles should get the job done. As for the wires, thats not easy, but not immpossible. Making you get each wire back where it goes and isn't touching anything thats hot are most crucial. The firing order is something crazy like

3 5
2 4
1 6

Double check though. The stock wires have numbers writen on them.
