Default Castrol GTX

This truck has never had anything put in it but Motorcraft oil by me or the dealer. This time I decided to make a change and use some GTX and wow what a difference. I have not been able to measure any difference in fuel efficiency but the engine runs soooooo much smoother. The engine even seems to start up a little faster.

I haven't changed the oil in my ranger but used it in my 99 Grand Am, 92 Accord and 2002 Sonata (Still do) and It works great, I am probably going to stick with it. But I mix it with the lucas additive as well.

man im thinking of useing lucas stuff im not big on additives i use trans-x for my trans only because it's proved to do what it says.I would like to hear your opinion,my tappets are extremely noisy n my oil pump is the original n slow at getting the oil back up to the vavles.

what convinced me to try was a hand crank at Canadian tire that both had the same oil, but one had the lucas additive, you could crank both by hand an the one with lucas was easier to turn and it was obvious that the oil was lubricating the gears better. I starting using it in my 1992 Accord with 315,000 Kms. the idle did vary, it was more consistant, it could start in minus 30C without using the block heater and I saw a difference in fuel economy. the oil would stay golden for 5,000KMS instead of 3,000KMS and the engine didnt smell when I would push the engine. I think overall the $7 purchase was worth it. The bottle can be used for 2 oil changes.
