Default How Do I Know?

I found a bad 3.0 motor and have started taking it apart for a new build, the question i have is how do i know if the Lifters and Pushrods are good?
i want to use them to save on expense if i can.

tahke the hole head to a machine shop and let them test the head is best thing to do with it

will normal cost around 40 bucks to test the heads. so def a good deal and they will tell u whats bad and what is still good to use

well i have new heads and short block, just wanted to know if there was a way to tell if the lifters and pushrods were re useable.

anyway to tell?

Post pictures of both.

And I hear ya on the cost of the lifters/pushrods. $45 a piece for the lifters for my 4.0.

Bad idea to use old lifters with a new shortblock. The lifters/pushrods are all "wear in" parts, and need to be matched together upon reassembly, or it may cause premature wear to "other" new parts. I'm assuming the shortblock is a complete rotating assembly?? If so, that new cam may have issues with the old lifters, due to previous wear pattern, ect....
