Default Exremly Loud Squeal

HI There this is my first post, and I need some help. I bought my 2005 Ranger 3.0L 2wd auto from my dads company with 100,000 miles and a blown head gasket. I put a new head on from rock auto and started it up. Soon after a terrible squealing sound started coming from the engine. I took the belt off and the engine still is making the noise, so I figured it was the cam synchronizer bearings gone bad. I replaced the synchro but the squeal is still there!!! And when I mean a squeal, I mean I wont run the engine for more then five seconds becuase its way too loud and it sounds like im going to ruin the engine. Does anybody have any suggestions? Did the oil pump somehow fail?

When my Ranger (2000 3.0L 4wd) had a squeal, I chased it around for about a year. I went through about 6 idler pulleys, a few tensioners, a few different brands of belts, an alternator, water pump, and power steering pump. The squeak was still there after all of this. I read on some shady mechanic website that Gates tensioner pulleys fix the problem. I was skeptical but desperate. I bought one, put it on, and haven't had too big of a problem with it since. It still chirps when there is a high moisture outside, but only temporarily. It cost me about 60 dollars and took an hour to install. The install would've been shorter but I didn't have the right tools at the time. Give it a shot. I will only buy Gates brand pulleys from now on because of this.

It wont be a pulley becuase i ran the engine without a belt on and it still squealed. I think it is an air pressure problem becuase after i run the engine the sqeual stays for about two seconds and sounds like pressure is being relived.
