short block questions?
hello, first post.. I just bought a short block for my 1997 Ranger and a set of remanufactured heads. I'm going to start putting it all together this week using my bolt on parts from my old engine. it won't have any proformance mods just an all stock daily driver. question is, does the oem engine have roller style lifters and should I spend the extra $120 for new ones or would the old ones work ok (120,000 miles) I've been told roller lifters will last forever but I'm very skeptical about that? any tips on things I should do or look out for while putting it back together? I've read several posts about synchronizing the cam shaft sensor. any clues on that issue would be very helpful. thank you, in advance for any advice you can give me.
