you cant screw up the use a tool to relieve the tension and then take the belt off.........I have a special tool for it but I think a 3/8 ratchet with a pipe for leverage does the same thing......make sure you disconnect the neg terminal on the battery if you are changing the alternator

Ok thanks to everyone for your input an help.!! I appreciate it a lot. I'll try to post on how it goes but I probably won't have time to change the alternator till next month so I want to thank everyone for their help!!!

it might not even be the alternator if its charging fine then i dont think so. Might be the bearings on the tension pully itself
