the truck wont stay running. it starts after about 3 times of turning the key over. it finally starts up n sounds like it should but it dies out about 30 seconds later. n if i touch the gas at all it dies immidietly.just wondering if anybody has had a similiar problem n could tell me where to start looking.
just replaced the plugs n wires
im getting fuel n spark but maybe not the right psi im not sure havent been able to test fuel pressure yet.
just seeing if anybody else had any idead before i go buying a fuel pressure guage n all.
but if i unhook the throttle posistion sensor or whatever that is on the throttle body it will run .. it runs shitty but it stays running..until i touch the gas
thanks

Could be charging system. As in bad alternator and your battery is done taking up the slack.
But since you mention that when you tap the accelerator and cause it to die I'd also say start scouting for a vacuum leak.
You've done a good job taking stock of and describing your symptoms. So you should be able to get some input.

I understood that it cranks and runs before it dies. I read your post before I replied.

I recently "seafoamed" my 2000 3.0 and I unplugged the brake booster vacuum line and had the same symptoms you described, so I agree with the guy who said "start hunting for a vacuum leak". I had an old mechanic help me do this once by starting it and keeping it running while squirting brake cleaner around know vacuum spots. When the idle dipped, thats where the leak was. At least it gave me a place to start looking if I couldn't keep it running smooth enough to hear this "HISSSSSSSSSSS" of a vacuum leak.
