Default I need to fix my spedometer and get more hp

I have 33x10.5r15 tires and wheel and just figured out that my ranger comes with a 97 code axle. which is a 8.8 open and a 4.10 gear. However, after i installed the 33" tire my speedometer went off by about 10 miles. What can i do to fix this problem? anyone. I would also love to increase my hp.

You can get a tuner to correct it but those are 300 dollars and up. Or just live with it

I am living with it. I have basically the same setup. I really want a tuner to fix the performance but if you just want to correct your speedo i suggest an Ultragauge. I have mine calibrated so it shows my correct MPH. @ 70 mph I am doing about 79. Anything less than 30 and your speedo should not be off by that much. Its a % issue. your not off by 10 at all speeds just prob at highway speeds. Around town your prob only off by about 3-5 mph, at least I am.

I've always found that a GPS is dead on accurate (land vehicles, boats, and aviation). The only problem with using it as a replacement is most devices can't keep up with acceleration. The rate at which the displayed speed changes is too slow compared to what we're used to with a speedometer.

The tuner would be good if you want the other performance possibilities you can get from it. But just for the speed, its and expensive fix.

Does anyone have real world gains from a brand name performance chip? Like a dyno comparison?
