Hey...

I have a 1999 3.0 Flex with 141500 on it. It is a daily driver.

Now, on a daily basis, in the cold, when it's been sitting for more than 6 hours, when I start it, the engine ticks, somewhat loudly, than it quiets to a soft tick, then stops altogether.

My thought was, since it only does this in the cold, that it's trouble with the oil flow.

My oil pressure gauge has acted funny in the past (needle flickers crazy like around 2100 rpm, sometimes doesn't even read until warmed up).

The bulk of these issues in only in the cold weather. Like, 99% of the time.

Is it she doesn't like the cold, or is there something worse going on here?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

But is this bad, being that it most specifically happens in the cold?

maybe change to a lighter weight oil in cold a heavier weight oil gets thicker a lighter weight oil wont get as thick and will flow easier

Its your lifter. Sticking, loosing pressure.

I did go to a 5 weight for the winter, normally I use a 10 weight.

Still does it daily.

My question is simply: Should I be worried a whole lot?

Mine does the ticking too, but its not a big deal is it?

you could run a 1/2 qt of ATX Fluid with your next oil change, but buy cheap oil and only run it for a couple miles, or you'll do some damage...

or maybe some lucas oil treatment,

or Seafoam, ive heard that shit works wonders.

nothing to be too concerned about, my 3.0 probe ran that way for 10k
