Default Help 1999 Ranger Inconsistent Sudden loss of power

Ok...I own a 1999 Ford Ranger with a 3.0L V6 Flex Fuel Engine (engine has always ran on unleaded gas only). It has 213,000 miles and it's my daily driver (best truck I have ever owned). *The truck runs extremely strong and great 99% of the time, but today it left me stranded twice on my commute home from work. I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic when suddenly I felt like it was shutting down, losing power, all the gauge needles were fluctuating like crazy, then it just shut down completely...at first it wouldn't start, but after letting it sit for 30-60 seconds it started right up and ran perfectly for about 20 minutes then it did the same thing with the same results of starting after letting it sit for 30-60 seconds...this is the second time I have had this same issue. The last time it happened was about 1-1/2 years ago while driving home from about a 5hr trip...both of these times it has never thrown a code that would allow me to run a computer diagnostic and whatever the problem is does not fully give out permanently to let me try and trouble shoot it once I'm home...has any one else ever encountered this problem or something similar and figure out what it was???? Any help, ideas, etc would be greatly appreciated.*

Unfortunatly no...it didn't trigger a code the first time it did it well over a year ago and it didn't trigger it this time either. I've driven it every day since the last time it did it about 100 miles a day and it hasn't done it again...I know that doesn't mean anything since last time it took more then a year to do it again, just wish whatever it is would just go out completly so I could figure out what it is and replace it..I keep thinking it has to due with something in the fuel system, like the fuel pump or relay???

i think they replaced the fuel pump like it wasnt getting enough gas.....it could also be something simple like sensors not being connected right or something like that
