just got them one for me my dad's 86 and brothers 02. The valvoline max is for my brother the 1 quart of motorcraft is for me going to switch the fram out for the motorcraft. Now i never replaced a oil filter with full oil in the motor before. Can it be done? or will the oil come out? or is there a bypass on it to shut it off when not on.

If you are swapping the filter just do a whole oil change.

i just swapped the filter. no oil came running out. I never have taken a oil filter off with clear oil before lol new motorcraft filter is on there and i'm set. Ill do another oil change in 2000 miles. I don't like to go past that because its just black then. maybe this filter will change that

It will still be black from use, but I still believe in going with the recommended filter so its still a good thing

I use the FL820S motorcraft filter

they have a 3.0l

I looked it up at walmart and it showed the fl820s I bought it it worked and it seems longer than the super techs I was using, bigger must be better?
