Default Squeaking alternator

As though I have not all ready had enough things to replace, now the alternator is giving me problems. I could tell the idler pulley had some play in it, so I was hoping that was where the chirping noise was coming from since that would be a cheap easy fix. Well it was not and now it seems to be coming from the alternator. So if I get a new one what would be the best to get, and is there a way I could sell the old one? It could be refurbished right?

Go to your local parts store and tell them what your truck is and they should be able to look up what alternator you need.

As for selling the old one, I don't think you could sell it but, most parts stores have a core charge added to the cost of the new one. If they have a core charge on the new one it will be refunded if you bring in the old one.
I know they do that on batteries but I'm not 100% sure about alternators.

I really was just looking for a brand recommendation, if there might be one that everyone likes.

Not a huge deal, get one w/ a warantee if possible. I have used $35 junk yard units with out issue even. Just need to test the voltage and for A/C noise once it's installed, and then turn on everything electrical possible that is factory - if the voltage isn't beyond a reasonable expectation, it is good.

I havn't replaced an alternator but I have replaced other parts with Duralast brand stuff.
It's AutoZone's brand.

It seems to be a good brand. My bro has a few of their parts and he has had no problems with them.

Update

I took it by the local Ford dealer and they hosed down the belt with pb blaster and it shut it up for a few minutes. So that was suposed to be proof that its the belt that is the problem. And I just put on this Dayco belt a bit over 2 weeks ago. Did fine at first.
