Re: What kind of intake should I get??
i concur it is way cheaper than a cold air intake and works just the same, also you don't have to worry about water getting sucked up through the filter and blowing the motor, I have seen this happen on some hondas around town

Re: What kind of intake should I get??
go with a dry flow filter kn are ok but they are still cotton with oil on them so if u get a dry flow filter more flow and faster air flow and keep ur stock air intake system its just as good as an after market system

Re: What kind of intake should I get??
I did the airbox mod. Luckily i already had a K&N filter. Wish i saw this forum when i put the filter in lol. It sounds pretty good around 2500 rpm and up when your gettin' on it. I still wanna get a full intake system. I'm pretty confident you would get HP gains. Just finding the right one is the hard part.

how is water going to get into the engine? its not sitting on the ground, unless he goes through large puddles

Re: What kind of intake should I get??
i have seen some people around town w/ really slammed hondas and makeshift cai's where the filter is about 6 inches from the ground and then when they drive downtown here in charleston, sc they figure out that the engine won't run on water... but you are right he would have to go through a puddle about the height of the door to get water in the motor. Unless he slams the truck and does a body drop...

Re: What kind of intake should I get??
There are no horsepower gains putting a cai on a ranger. It may increase ur mpg by like 1 mph, but that's it man
