Unhappy '00 3.0 stutter / stumble at speed...

so my truck, for some reason, has decided to piss me off.

it's developed a stumble / stutter when im crusing at around 40-55 MPH, and only once it's warmed up. this is AFTER new plugs, wires, and a fuel filter. for the last 3 weeks i've tanked it up with premium and used a bottle of dry-gas at each fillup in hopes of clearing it up but nothing. and im starting to get frustrated... also sat out one night with the hood open and the truck idling to see if i had a faulty wire, but everything looked ok.

the truck is an '00 XLT 4x4, 3.0 v6, auto trans, and it only has 72,500 miles. im thinking mabe a sensor issue? idk....

anyone have any ideas?

O2 sensor might be going bad, also check EGR and PCV valve. Seafoam might clear up some of the issue especially if your injectors are clogged. Is your engine getting really hot after moderate driving? I had a stuck thermostat that was making the engine too hot, and this caused the injectors to sputter. no joke. The O2 sensors (you have two) will DEFINITELY cause this sort of behavior.

What do you mean by stumble. Mine does something like that when I'm in 4/5 gear at a higher rpm but its because a band or two is out of adjustment in my transmission. The clutch slips a little making the engin rev higher then it catches and jerks the truck a little do you think that might be what yours is doing?

One other thing: definitely check or replace your fuel filter especially if you used any fuel system cleaner recently.

It does it in every gear even if I put it in '2' or '1' so in my case it's not but I'm not sure about the other fella

Probably. I'm not a mechanic but they can go bad and hauling like might not help that

----------

Do you know if its the motor actually stumbling or is the whole truck stumbling I probably should have asked that first lol

3.0 has 3 o2 sensors. Two upstream on the Y pipe, and one downstream between the cat and muffler.
