Default Engine bogs down sometimes at idle

My 3.0 ranger sometimes bogs down at idle, acting like it wants to stall. Wierd thing is, it only seems to do it when I come to a stop. Ive never have been idling at a light and it just bog down, it only seems to do it when I come to a stop.
One of my buddies has a mechanic as a neighbor and he says I could just need new spark plugs and wires. Ive replaced my serp belt and cam sync last week if that makes a difference.

oh and it doesnt actually stall, just acts like it wants to for 3 seconds and then goes back to normal.

Does it make a difference when your A/C is on? How about when your wheels are turned?

no idea. Next time I notice it, I will try both. If it does make a difference, what does that mean?

Could be your IAC. They love to go out in these trucks. I've lost two now. First time I lost it, the truck always wanted to stall at stops. Second time I lost one, the truck would idle with the cycling of the a/c compressor. When the compressor clicked on, it would idle down. When it clicked off, idle would rise back up. But that time it didn't really try to die.

It's the easiest part to replace on a Ranger in my opinion. Two bolts, and the connector. The IAC is right above the throttle body.

I got my new one from Autozone for $45. So far it's done okay. I do plan to get a Motorcraft one though should this one fail. I think Ford charges around $70 for them.

What's really sad is that Ford has been using the same style IAC since at least the mid 80's, yet they still make them to fail. Anything to make money I guess.
