omfg this has been pissing me off the past few weeks. it first started by taking a couple times to start up, sometimes dying before I even put it in first gear. has a rough idle, low horsepower going up hill. eventually leading up to taking 5 mins to start, now won’t start at all as of 20 mins ago. also was a victim of overheating.
truck: 2000 ford ranger 2WD 3.0 flex fuel manual.
history as of the past week: I’ve changed the battery, coolant valve, coolant temp sensor (has 2), water pump, spark plugs. messed up the timing, then fixed it. checked fuel pump by cracking the fuel line to see if the pump was working…which it is, now I smell like gasoline. only thing me and a buddy can think of is either the coil pack or the computer.
anyone have any other ideas? I’ve looked online and the coil pack seems to be a problem in some rangers, same with dead cylinders. which I’m sure it has, but it still would start…most of the time…
any ideas would be great, thanks
