I've been reading up on this, and there's alot of people that have the same problem, but there aren't any clear cut answers. If you can hear it through the driveshaft, and at the back of the motor, i'd imagine something with the trans. If you put the truck in park, does it stop?

No ,that's usually when you heard it ,in park at idle .

----------

This last week it's been faint and thought the cold brought it on.Was 19 this morning and didn't hear it.

Hmm, that helps a bit. When things are cold, they shrivel up. When things are hot, they expand. If it goes away when it's cold out, then something closed up a bit, muffling the sound. Can you hear this humming louder at the bottom of the truck, or louder at the top of the engine?

Oh okay, so does it do it when the truck itself is cold, or in cold weather?

It will do it at any time or weather, just lately have heard it a lot more since weather is cooler.most of time it seems loudest right after a over night sitting ,crank to warm up and come out to leave to go to work may hear it.

Have you at all played with the IAC?

Even though the IAC is more towards the front, the noise can still travel. I remember last time it got cold, my IAC took a turn for the worse. When I pulled it, it has a nice suction noise to it. Bolted up to the engine, it may sound more like a hum.

When IAC's go bad, the truck will run fine at open throttle, but at idle, the truck will start to run terrible.

BTW, it's possible for the IAC to already be bad, even with your low mileage. I lost my original at 43,000. I swapped another original one on from a 2002 Ranger that had 44,000, and lost it a month later. I'm on a brand new IAC and so far so good. It's worth a check for sure. Clean it up real good, and see if the noise goes away.

T-body and IAC are spotless, also new Motorcraft PCV ,reman Cardone cam sync.,new TPS and reman. mass air .

I had a Wells IAC on it last year and the piece of crap kept hanging at high idle.I ended up putting the OEM back on and cleaned it .I have some Wynns foaming air intake cleaner that works awesome.I also did a top end clean recently.

Truck runs better now than when i bought it 6 years ago,has always struggled and got to where it would bog and die out .had no SES light ,first thought TPS,next changed gas filter and checked press. Then using my gut instinct i bought a reman. mass air and fixed !!! No more bog, struggle or surging. What puzzled me was,no SES or any DTC's ,i had cleaned the diodes and it was still bad .Sure miss carbs and distributors .LOL

To be honest, cleaning the IAC is only a coverup. Both times I lost my factory IACs, cleaning didn't help them at all. Whatever failed on them was inside of the body of the valve where I couldn't reach it. When you checked the IAC, did you check to see if there was any kind of resistance on the plunger?

As far as the codes go, i've heard numerous times that the MAF, the TPS, and the IAC will often show no trouble codes or check engine lights. It's pretty much a guessing game with those three.

Please don't bash this site because nobody got around to helping you. It takes time for people to come back and check the forums, people have lives outside of the internet.

Not trying to be mean, just don't make such a quick judgement, there are some very intelligent members more than willing to help if you just give them time.

Yea,it was making the noise this eve.I unplugged the IAC , was gone i thought and as soon as i bought the idle up to the same rpm as it is with the IAC plugged in i heard the same noise.I heard it loudest around 900 to 1100 rpm ,IAC connected or disconnected.
